    Objective: To present and discuss the papers emanating from the UNU Project on Asia and Africa in the Global Economy. The conference is organized jointly with the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).

    Objective: To teach city government officials responsible for disaster management planning about earthquake damage estimation and seismic risk management and to develop a training manual that can be used in urban areas around the world.     Objective: To train manpower required for embryo rescue to facilitate wide crosses between cultivated species and their wild relatives, conservation of vegetatively propagated crops, such as yams, cassava, cocoyam and Frafra potato and other indigenous African food crops, rapid propagation of elite clones, and disease avoidance and disease elimination to facilitate international transfer of germplasm.
