Eve Thompson

Leadership Academy alumnus
is appointed interim Director 

UN University Leadership Academy (UNU/LA) has announced the appointment of Eve Thompson as Director ad interim. Ms. Thompson, 42, has been a member of the academy's advisory committee for the past two years and is an alumnus of UNU/LA’s first programme in 1997 and an advanced leadership program held in 1999.

Previously, she was Leadership Development Specialist with CARE International’s Southern and West Africa Regional Management Unit in Johannesburg where she developed and implemented a programme to enhance the quality of leadership within CARE’s 11 country offices throughout Southern and West Africa.

Earlier positions include Director of Africa Programs at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies in South Africa and staff attorney of the Southern Africa Project of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights under Law in Washington DC.

Ms. Thompson wrote the first Leadership Academy alumni paper, Leadership in South Africa: How Long Does a Rainbow Last?, and edited the Joint Center publication Guaranteeing a Future for South Africa’s Youth.
