Johannesburg Summit visit for A field trip to Johannesburg to take part in the World Summit on Sustainable Development will be on the curriculum of the UN University Leadership Academy (UNU/LA) global course on Leadership for Environment and Human Security, which will take place in Jordan and South Africa August 12-30. The academy's goal is to enable participants to "learn about leadership directly from leaders" by ensuring that they have an opportunity to interact with global and national experts. Among the experts taking part are Prince Hassan bin Talal, President of the Club of Rome, Elisabeth Dowdeswell, former Executive Director of UNEP, Satish Kumar, of Schumacher College, U.K., and Steven Rockefeller, of the Earth Charter Commission. The academy offers an innovative core curriculum on leadership including History of leadership, Contemporary Theories of Leadership, Contexts of Leadership, Ethics of Leadership, Individual Leadership Analysis and Development. Global Human Values required to meet contemporary global challenges is an integral component of the curriculum as developed by the Academy.
