PM Mahathir
to deliver
first U Thant
lecture

 

 

Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Bin Mohamad will be the first speaker in this year's U Thant Distinguished Lecture Series, organized by UNU Centre and UNU Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU/IAS).

Dr. Mahathir, who has led Malaysia for two decades, will speak on "Globalization, Global Community and the United Nations". The event will take place in the U Thant International Hall (third floor of UNU Centre in Tokyo) at 11 a.m. on June 7.

This U Thant Distinguished Lecture Series is a forum for eminent thinkers and world leaders to speak on the role of the United Nations in addressing the challenges facing the world’s peoples and nations in the 21st Century. Up to four prominent individuals will be invited each year to visit the University and share their insights and experiences with scholars, policy makers, business leaders and also the general public.
