INCORE to host
Ethnic Studies Network
conference;
theme is
From Violence
to Politics

 

 

The Initiative on Conflict Resolution and Ethnicity (INCORE) will host the fifth international conference of the Ethnic Studies Network at its headquarters, Aberfoyle House in Derry/Londonderry, June 27-30. 

This year's conference theme is From Violence to Politics. The four-day event will feature presentations on regions at varying stages of the peace process from a range of academic disciplines.

Panel discussions during the conference will cover such topics as:

  • Ethnicity, language and conflict;

  • Indigenous approaches to conflict resolution;

  • Dealing with the past;

  • Conflict, culture and the arts; and

  • The role of NGOs and international organizations in conflict resolution.

The conference will incorporate the final meeting of INCORE's Progressing Towards Settlement project led by Professor John Darby and Dr. Roger MacGinty.
