UNU-CRIS steps up
training activities

Two years after it began operations, the UNU Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) programme  is mobilising the internal expertise developed from ongoing research projects for training and capacity building activities. Beginning this year, CRIS staff members have delivered the following courses and training sessions

  • Dr. Nikki Slocum has taught a course on visioning for regional integration in Africa at the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning in Dakar, Senegal;

  • Dr. Philippe De Lombaerde delivered a teaching module on regional integration studies in the master’s degree programme in International Peace Studies, University for Peace, Costa Rica;

  • Dr. Mary Farrell taught a course on Regional and Global Governance at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra; and

  • CRIS director, Dr. Luk Van Langenhove, has been teaching a course on globalisation and regional integration at the Asia-Europe Institute, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

Ph.D students from Bangladesh, Burkina Faso and Romania have recently joined UNU-CRIS.
