Leading Transition course
scheduled for May 28

UNU International Leadership Academy is currently recruiting participants for its new four-week Global Course on Leading Transition scheduled May 28-June 29.

The course is limited to five participants each from Brazil, Czech Republic, China, Finland, France, Jordan, India, Kenya, Pakistan and South Africa. The programme is for mid-career leaders between the ages of 25 and 40. Each national group will include representatives of the public and private sectors, civil society, media and international agencies.

Principal objectives of the course are:

  • To demonstrate a transition process, how it takes place in cases where the leadership process engages in conscious evolution, what factors or attributes constructively contribute to the process and the cultural factors that contribute positively to transitional societies;

  • To heighten awareness of the relationship between cultural context and leadership and between situational context (in this case transition) and leadership, strengthen participants' ability to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of leadership in action and help them learn new leadership attributes through theory analysis and development, field analysis, scenario-building, self-analysis and project work.

In the post-programme phase, there will be an ongoing learning curriculum and process to provide continuous education and development  for emerging leaders. The work that participants do in their own countries will be seen as an integral part of the overall leadership program.

More information and application forms are available on the UNU-ILA website.
