Experts to examine commercial Latest trends in access to and benefit sharing of genetic resources will be showcased at a symposium September 30 at UNU Centre, Tokyo. The event, entitled Commercial Prospects of Access to and Benefit-sharing of Genetic Resources, is organized by UNU Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) and the Japan Bioindustry Association (JBA). Access to and benefit-sharing of genetic resources are among the main concerns currently being addressed by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Speakers at the symposium will focus on several key questions:
The symposium aims to provide a picture of the current status of CBD implementation in Asia, Europe and the Americas from the standpoint of access to and benefit-sharing of genetic resources.
