Mohamed H.A. Hassan joins
board of UNU-INRA

One of Africa’s most distinguished scientists, Prof. Mohamed H.A. Hassan, has been appointed chair of the UNU Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) advisory board.

A native of Sudan, Prof. Hassan is Executive Director of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Secretary-General of the Third World Network of Scientific Organizations (TWNSO) and President of the African Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Hassan replaces Dr. Bjorn Lundgren, who is retiring after six years on the INRA board. Dr. Lundgren was the founding Director-General of the World Agroforestry Center, one of the 16 centers belonging to the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
