Essay contest to mark Year of Freshwater UN University is marking International Year of Freshwater 2003 by organising a children's essay contest to encourage young people to think about freshwater issues. Theme of the contest is Water and Us and all students in Japanese elementary and junior high schools are eligible to enter. The top two essays from elementary and junior high school categories will be published in the Mainichi Shinbun newspaper. Deadline for
entries is September 30. |
