INTECH launches global
study of wine industry

UNU/INTECH is conducting a unique global study of innovations in the wine industry.

The comparative study, coordinated by INTECH director Lynn Mytelka, analyses the role of clustering and linkages in the technological upgrading of wine industries and the ability of firms to compete in export markets.

The 10-member research team is drawn from both the New World wine producing countries of Australia, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and South Africa, and Old World clusters in Czech Republic, France and the wine producing Limburg region in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The researchers met in Maastricht in June to share their preliminary findings and results of the study will be published next year.
