Forthcoming meetings and workshops
A workshop on Training in the Interfaces between Food Availability, Food Conservation, and Human Nutrition in the Caribbean Community Region was held in St. Augustine, Trinidad, 12-15 January 1981. The objective of the workshop was to bring together staff from various organizations in countries of the Caribbean to participate in the development of an integrated post-graduate training and research programme relevant to this subject.
The principle outcome of the meeting is that a master of science programme on the interfaces between food availability, food conservation, and human nutrition, to be organized by the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of the West Indies, will start in October 1981. The Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, and Social Sciences will also be involved in the course, and the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute (CFNI), the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), and the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) will collaborate.
