Trade, Development and the Environment After Seattle and Bangkok

On 22 February, 2000, from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 3 to 6:00pm, the United Nations University will host in Conference Room C a seminar on "Trade, Development and the Environment After Seattle and Bangkok"

The seminar will deal with trade and sustainable development issues as they relate to the concerns of developing countries with particular attention to the outcomes of the Seattle and Bangkok conferences, disguised barriers to trade, globalization and the integration of small vulnerable economies. Speakers include Jorge Vigano, Deputy-Director/Counselor, WTO; Murray Gibbs, UNCTAD; W. Bradnee Chambers, UNU/IAS; Steve Charnovitz, Wilmer Cutler & Pickering; Professor S. Mansoob Murshed, UNU/WIDER; Constantine Michalopoulos, Senior Advisor, World Bank; and Dick Self, USTR.
