UNU Chosen as Peter Teravainen's preferred charity

Peter Teravainen, an American professional golfer and winner of the 1996 MasterCard-Tom Watson Prize, chose the UNU as the recipient of a \3 million cash donation that will be made on his behalf by the credit card giant MasterCard. The cash donation to a Japan-based charity of Mr. Teravainen's choice from MasterCard is one part of the grand prize he won for a remarkable shot he made during last year's Japan Open Golf Tournament. Mr. Teravainen selected the UNU to be the recipient of this donation over numerous other worthwhile philanthropic organizations.
