Yuko Okada has graduated from Tsuda College majoring in International and Cultural Studies. She received her master's degree in Education, Gender and International Development at the Institute of Education, University of London. After coming back to Japan in 2003, she worked as a coordinator of videoconferencing lectures and seminars as part of a distance technical cooperation project and organized seminars in various fields such as environment, health and education. She has strong interests in education for sustainable development and women's empowerment at the community level.
