Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam   JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellow   Dr. Nguyen received his Master’s degree from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in urban planning. Since 1998 to 2003 he has worked for the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Vietnam where he was in charge of management of environmental management systems consulting unit. He was a national expert in both industrial quality and environmental management systems, and community development projects. He has received his Ph. D. in urban engineering from The University of Tokyo September 2006. His research interests are housing finance systems, housing for low-income groups, community participatory planning, GIS applications to analyze the relationship between development and urban environmental conditions.
