New study to
urge sweeping
reform of UN,
World Bank
and IMF

A new United Nations University study calling for major reform of the UN, World Bank and International Monetary Fund will be discussed at a seminar to be held May 2 at the UN Secretariat in New York.

Prepared by UNU’s World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU/WIDER), with support from the UN's Division for Social Policy and Development, the study examines the impact of globalization on key international institutions.

Edited and co-authored by Delhi University vice-chancellor Deepak Nayyar, the study will also call for the creation of several new institutions, including a Global People's Assembly, Economic Security Council and Volunteer Peace Force.

For more information about the seminar, contact the UNU Office in New York.
