UNU/INTECH launches
Technology Policy Brief series

UNU Institute for New Technology (UNU/INTECH) has released the first issue of its new Technology Policy  Brief (TPB) series. The series will provide an overview of issues in key problem areas, with analysis, information and guides to research on technology policy for development. 

The first TPB examines Technology Policy Issues at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and includes the following articles:

  • WTO Declaration on TRIPS: What Does It Mean to Developing Countries?"
  • General Comments by the Permanent Mission of Venezuela to the WTO
  • Who Gains from TRIPS?"
  • An NGO Perspective on the Declaration on TRIPS -  The View From Oxfam
  • TRIPS:  A Guide for Policymakers  (Book Review)

Upcoming issues this year will cover agricultural biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals and health, ICTs and the  Internet, energy and the environment, transnational corporations and innovation.

The TPB series is published bi-monthly in both print and electronic (PDF) format available for download from the publications section of the UNU/INTECH website.
