UN Secretary-General visits UNU
On the afternoon of Thursday, 11 November 1999, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan visited the UNU Centre in Tokyo. During his visit, the Secretary General spoke to a capacity audience in the UNU International Conference Hall on "Japan's World Role in the Twenty-First Century."

This was Kofi Annan's third visit to the UNU as Secretary-General. Prior to speaking, he met briefly with UNU Rector Hans van Ginkel and staff of the UNU and other UN Offices in Tokyo as well as with Board members of the Japan Association for United Nations Studies.
