UNU's activities

The UNU Institute for Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) maintains a number of information services that raise awareness about climate change and the UNFCCC negotiations. The TK Bulletin provides regular reviews of Traditional Knowledge issues in the global arena including discussions at relevant international fora. In collaboration with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), this service is being expanded to develop a peer-to-peer subscription list providing subscribers the opportunity to share news and announcements with other list members.

The REDD Bulletin provides a topic-specific service for indigenous people with a weekly review of issues surrounding the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries, including issues discussed at international meetings. International bodies covered by the bulletin will include: the UNFCCC, the General Assembly, ECOSOC, the United Nations Permanent Forum for Indigenous Peoples, the United Nations Inter-Agency Support Group on Indigenous Issues, CBD, UNCCD, UNESCO, processes of the World Bank and regional development banks, initiatives such as the Indigenous Peoples Global Summit on Climate Change and any other relevant processes or meetings. Issues of the REDD Bulletin are available via email, blog and RSS newsfeed subscriptions.

A TK video series has been developed in collaboration with the UNU Media Studio.
