The international climate change regime is an important element of the UNU Press publication program, as evidenced by recent titles such as Climate Change in Asia, Heads Up: Early Warning Systems for Climate-, Water- and Weather-Related Hazards and Interlinkages and the Effectiveness of Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
The main thrust of the unit’s activities is to demonstrate and disseminate the scholarly output of UNU institutes, their researchers and other academics through books, briefs, and public events. UNU Press will contribute to the public awareness-raising side event at COP-15.
The IPCC has identified local knowledge as an important missing element in its previous assessments and a focus for its next assessment process. The UNU-IAS Traditional Knowledge Initiative looks at this important area.
